TRAVEL: City Airport Search Rule Improvements
Rules | Policy and Preferences | Result Display Rules
- Products: Travel
- Markets: All
- Communication to Users Recommended? Yes
- Requires Traveldoo Services Assistance? No
- Optional? Yes
Overview
Traveldoo offers to configure how results are displayed for air searches. 3 options were available to rely on the provider (GDS or other connectivity), to allow all proposals to be displayed, or to remove proposals from alternate airports.
However, another combination also makes sense: all proposals for intercontinental flights, only requested airports for short and medium-haul flights. This option is now available in from the Administration Site.
What’s new for travelers / arrangers?
If your setup remains unchanged: nothing.
If your setup includes the new option: all proposals from the provider will be displayed for intercontinental flights. However, only the proposals involving the specifically requested airports will be displayed in the results page for short and medium-haul flights.
What’s new for administrators?
The setting “City/airport search rule” has been reworked in order to offer the new option “include proposals with alternative airport only for intercontinental flights”. The labels for the existing options have been reviewed for better accuracy.

The behavior that has been set up prior to this enhancement remains the same.
TRAVEL: Usability Improvements
- Products: Travel
- Markets: All
- Communication to Users Recommended? No
- Requires Traveldoo Services Assistance? No
- Optional? No
Overview
User experience is a major point of attention for Traveldoo. As a consequence, we have improved flight and train searches on two points:
- Visual differentiation for airports on the results page between requested ones and not requested ones
- Coherence for mini search rules
What’s new for travelers / arrangers?
If the proposal displayed on the results page leaves from or arrives to a different airport than the one requested, it is displayed in orange:
Results for a CDG – Newark Search
However, if the round-trip proposal is asymmetrical, the second airport is still displayed with a red font. The asymmetry is defined by leaving from an airport and coming back to another one, or arriving to an airport and leaving from a different one.
The second enhancement adds a distinctive text for fully flexible fares on the results page. Traveldoo already displays detailed information for restricted fares. For example:
- “Flight time changes not permitted. Non-refundable ticket.” for non-modifiable and non-refundable fares
- “Changes before departure charge 70.00 EUR (plus fare difference). Non-refundable ticket” for modifiable with penalties and non-refundable ones
The text “Free changes before departure (plus fare difference)” is now displayed for fully flexible fares.
What’s new for administrators?
Nothing. These enhancements are automatic.

EXPENSE: Extended Country Coverage for Mileage
Rules | Policy and Preferences | Mileage Allowance Rules
- Products: Expense
- Markets: All countries with long rates
- Communication to Users Recommended? Yes
- Requires Traveldoo Services Assistance? No
- Optional? Yes
Overview
Traveldoo provides to its customers a generic mileage engine. This engine can be configured to address most of the countries where this type of allowance is a legal requirement.
This enhancement extends the number of countries where it can be used. It is now possible to configure rates up to 7 characters (including the decimal separator), instead of 5.
For example, mileage can fully be claimed in Ireland and Belgium.
What’s new for travelers / arrangers?
Nothing. This enhancement provides the ability to configure the mileage engine for new countries. It does not impact how mileage are reported by end-users.
What’s new for administrators?
It is now possible to configure mileage rates up to 7 characters from the Administration Site.
