Booking the trip is the final stage of the Search - Select - Book process in the Travel tool.
You can start booking your trip from:
- the My Selections tab
- the Plan a Trip tab
On the My Selections tab, click the Reserve button. Note that doing so begins booking for all the services that you have selected and which are shown on the page.
On the Plan a Trip tab, click Select and reserve to begin booking for a specific service in your search results.
In either case, the Reserve screen is displayed, where you can check the details of the services, complete the booking and begin the approval process, if any.
The screen is pre-filled with information from your personal profile (see Managing Your User Profile) such as loyalty cards, credit cards and delivery addresses. Depending on your company procedures, you may be required to specify additional information, such as a cost centre. You may also be able to select a particular seat, if the carrier supports this feature.
Choosing Reserve, Select and reserve or Complete this reservation does not necessarily mean that a reservation is guaranteed for the service immediately. Many company settings include a process for approval (for example, by a line manager or supervisor), in which case the service must be approved by the date indicated, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled. (This does not apply in the case of bookings with certain low-cost carriers where tickets are issued immediately upon reservation.)
